In 2011 Helene Segal had the opportunity to build her dream house. A home that shouts space and ample light. Helene’s artistic decorative flair pulled off a rustic elegance creating a unique ambiance. Throw in Helene’s bubbly, free spirited personality and you have a place to stay at filled with love and friendship and good old fashioned country hospitality.

Asking Helene’s motto in life, she immediately replies “Live life! And let live!

Helene has been a teacher for 33 years teaching Home Economics – suffice to say she loves cooking and entertaining. Which makes her breakfasts a real treat – no time here for getting out of bed on the wrong foot.

STAY AT FRIENDS is a place where strangers become your friends.

Come in touch with nature and enrich your soul with the roar of the sea always in the back ground. Here fauna speaks to your soul. Fresh air, green areas and no street lights makes this village a special jewel away from city life and daily chores. It is the only place where pheasants come and greet you at your doorstep. Stay at Friends is the place where you will be treated, spoiled rotten what you deserve.

Hiking trails: Silver Sands hiking trail along the Atlantic ocean is nature at its best. Hear and the breathe the sea. Also find Rod’s Trail, Brodie’s Link, Palmiet, Kleinmond Coastline Road, Pringle bay, Hang Klip and Harold Porter hiking Trail.The hiking trail excursion will be lead by an experienced club members of Kleinmond Hiking Trail.

Attractions: Stony Point penguin colony is the second largest in the continent (2km away). Harold Porter Botanical garden (5km away) where you can watch different bird species … have a guided tour of fauna and flora. Kogelberg Park: Go 4×4 / mountain biking or hiking in, UNESCO acknowledgement. Nature lovers will love it. Hermanus for whale watching only 30 minutes away. Gansbaai for shark diving is 85 minutes away. Cape Town is 95 minutes away so is Paarl and Stellenbosch, well known for their wines. Overberg wine routes is 60km away. Arabella Golf course is 18km away for golf lovers. Silversand Beach is 680m away for swimming and tanning and the Blesberg Dunes are 1km away for sand boarding.

Modern en-suite double/queen rooms with luxury bedding, electrical blankets, eco-friendly heaters and hanging rack for clothes. Double rooms are fitted with kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave and kettle. Coffee and tea trays are provided. Reading / laptop working areas available in rooms separate from the main house with separate entrance from patio as well as reading room. Swimming pool and deck with deck chairs and outdoor tables and chairs.
