Nestled between mountain and untamed coastline in the heart of the Cape Fynbos Floral Kingdom, the Pringle Rock Distillery stands as a testament to the spirit of innovation, tradition and the relentless pursuit of quality.
As a family-run distillery, we take pride in our journey from grain to glass. Crafting exceptional whisky & gin that captures the essence of our unique environment.
The Pringle Rock Distillery was conceptualized by Leigh Elves who has been in the engineering industry for almost 40 years. His dream was to build, in his words “…the very best distillery to produce the very best spirit.”
Our ecologically friendly distillery farm is completely off-grid. We generate our own power by means of solar energy and our water is natural mountain water sourced from a well on our property.
We are committed to the protection and enhancement of our natural environment and strive to operate in the most ecologically sustainable manner possible.
ROCKJUMPER GIN – The Cape Rockjumper is the first South African species to be recognized on the near threatened conservation list. The Rockjumper does not fly very often but rather bounces about on the rocky slopes of our fynbos mountain habitat.
In admiration and recognition of our resident Rockjumpers, the Pringle Rock Distillery have created Rockjumper Gin to create an awareness of these beautiful and charismatic birds.
We use the finest botanicals and natural ingredients, most of which are locally sourced and some homegrown on our farm.
PRINGLE ROCK WHISKY – The old 14 horse stable has been repurposed into a distillery that houses our three hand crafted copper stills – Victor, Josephine & Gerry K.
In keeping with our ethos, the distillery is a masterpiece showcasing sustainability through genius innovation and engineering. It is designed to be as efficient as possible and to have zero impact on the environment. We use the least amount of energy to produce the finest spirit.
Whisky distiller, Leigh Elves, personally selects the finest ex port & sherry barrels for whisky maturation.
In the heart of the Kogelberg Biosphere, amidst fynbos & coastal breezes, our whisky matures – promising an unparalleled taste of one of South Africa’s finest. Five years of patience will reveal a spirit rich in flavour & character. Prepare to savour the legacy of Pringle Rock!
