General information
National Youth Development Agency (previously known as the Umsobomvu Youth Fund and National Youth Commission) is implementing the NSC 2nd Chance Project for 2000 leaners in Kwa Zulu Natal, Gauteng, Eastern Cape and Western Cape. The project will be managed by Star Schools and there will be 10 centres nationally (refer to distribution of centres below)
Criteria
• Must have written the NCS Matric Examination in the year 2008 or 2009
• Must have failed a maximum of 4 subjects
• Only learners that have scored above 25% in a subject can register
• Learners can only register for subjects that they did in matric at school
• No portfolio work is done – Learners' SBA (School Based Assessment) marks from school will be carried over
Programme offering
• Classes commence on the 19th February 2011
• Supplementary guides will be provided
• Classes will be held on Saturdays
• 36 hours of tuition per subject
• 3 Assessments per subject to be written in the year
• Candidates will be registered to write the National exam in October/November 2011

What to bring on Registration day
• 2 certified copies of their ID
• 2 certified copies of their statement of results
