Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate

May 4, 2020admin

Boutique Winery
Benguela Cove is a leading producer and wine destination at the start of South Africa’s Hermanus Wine Route. Discover and enjoy the finest, quality wines from Benguela Cove’s vineyards, which benefit from the unique conditions of the estate’s location at the ocean’s edge, on the southern coast of South Africa. The south-easterly sea breeze is chilled by the Benguela Current flowing up from Antarctica, to cool the grapes at night after the warm summer days, irrigated by above-average rainfall, for perfect viniculture. The vineyards planted across the estate are young and have already asserted the supreme quality of the terroir with a series of awards. These exceptional conditions and the skills of the winemaker create our superb Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz and other cultivars. The estate benefits from major investment by the new owners in winemaking and cultivation. This is a family with a new vision for Benguela Cove: to establish the estate’s red and white cultivars over the coming years as South Africa’s premier quality wine.

Wine Tasting
For the ultimate taste experience visit us – an award-winning wine estate situated at the start of South Africa’s very popular Hermanus Wine Route and a member of the Bot River Winegrowers Association. As a leading producer and wine destination the quality of wine you can enjoy from our vineyards are of the highest standard. Our vineyards benefit from the unique conditions of the estate’s location at the ocean’s edge, on the southern coast of South Africa. With our spectacular views you can sit outside in the African Sunshine looking out over our vineyards and the majestic lagoon. We also offer a Symphony of the Senses at our Wine Tasting Room with our very special Wine & Chocolate Pairing. In this case the word special is not enough. Jane Stuart, master chocolatier, has created chocolates which she vows won’t be repeated as they are “one-off and bespoke.” This approach marks every element of the pairing. Jane took four wines from Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate home to mull over at leisure. A Sauvignon Blanc 2013, a Chardonnay 2014, Matilda’s Secret 2013 and the Shiraz 2012 were put to the test. Having taking their measure she took her time creating four new chocolates. If you want to visit us and come for a wine tasting you do not need to book, you can simply arrive at our luxurious wine estate to taste the fantastic range we have to offer. For larger groups we do ask for a phone call beforehand in order to be prepared for your arrival. There is wheelchair access if required so all groups are more than welcome. When you enter our gates you simply drive straight ahead to find our Tasting Room. You will easily find it ahead of you. At our tastings we serve the wines that are presently available.
