Adventure is the essence of Africa and the best way to experience some of what makes this continent so unique. Gravity offers a wide range of adventure activities, all designed to provide our clients with an exciting and enjoyable way of getting back in touch with nature. The Palmiet River in the Kogelberg Nature Reserve is a beautiful stream in the summer time and an exciting whitewater section in the winter. We run whitewater rafting trips during winter and spring and tubing trips in spring, early summer and autumn. Our guides are all trained, experience and qualified and our equipment is top notch – safety and fun are our priorities. Click here for more details  about the trip and also answers to a few important questions.

Apart from our trips on the Palmiet, we offer a variety of other micro-adventure trips around Cape Town, on the West Coast and in the Northern Cape, including sea kayaking, coasteering and kloofing. We also run incredible multi-day wilderness rafting trips on the Orange River. Our specialty is helping you put together your ideal adventure holiday. We also offer innovative options for corporates and schools.

The Palmiet is also known as an excellent novice to intermediate river for whitewater kayaking. It’s graded as Class 3 and is perfect as a day trip from Cape Town. Gravity also offers guided whitewater kayaking trips and as well as ‘learn to kayak’ courses.

Hangklip-Kleinmond Tourism

The Hangklip Coast includes the towns of Kleinmond, Betty’s Bay, Pringle Bay and Rooiels, all located within the UNESCO Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve. The thin belt between the mountains and the sea hosts many wonders: from high peaks and fynbos-covered mountain slopes, rough ravines, caves, rivers and streams tumbling over edges to pristine beaches. The area has a typical Mediterranean climate: cool, wet winters with dry and hot summers. The indigenous forest and fynbos are home to a wide variety of animals, birds and insects. Here, you escape to nature!
